Kiddale baby food processor: A boon for the on-the-go mommy!

When we think about weaning, there is an infinite string of thoughts and plans that need to be put in action: when to start, what to introduce, how to proceed, and so on. Preparing the food in a hygienic way that retains the flavor and nutrition is the most crucial step, without any second thought. Almost all food preparations follow 3 simple steps: steam, blend/mash, and strain to get a puree with proper consistency, suitable for the baby. A good baby food processor like kiddale will simplify this seemingly herculean task
This beautiful and compact machine replaces a steamer, masher, and strainer, all in one. The most beautiful aspect is the retention of natural flavors and locking-in of all good nutrients, in the best hygienic way possible.
Traditional way or food-processor?
With my first baby, I did it the traditional way, using a pressure cooker/steamer, masher, and strainer. It was a demanding task each time, with a constant focus on minimum food-handling to avoid any contamination. The overall process is time-consuming and tiring, especially when attempted 3 to 4 times a day.
This time, I opted to try my luck with a baby food processor, being already overworked and caught-up with babycare due to COVID isolation and scarcity of help. And despite my initial hesitation, this decision proved to be an ultimate life-saver.
PROS
Minimal food handling, Maximum hygiene.
I am obsessed with maintaining food-hygiene, expressly when my kids are involved. Steaming, mashing, and straining all in one closed space, one following another seamlessly. All you gotta do is press the desired button. No hand touch in between, no exchange of utensils/ bowls, etc. This gives me immense peace of mind, having no less than the best for my precious munchkin.
Allows inclusion of variety in the daily menu.
Making a puree takes a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes, everything included. Now, I don’t shy away from making 4 to 5 different food items for my little one, fresh every time. Thanks to the remarkable ease of operation, I have stopped cooking in bulk, and/or store for the next meal.
Retains natural flavors, and nutrition.
The best part of making baby-food with help of a kiddale baby food processor is the retention of natural flavors in the meal. I suggest you don’t throw away the water after steaming is over, and use it for making puree. This not only retains the flavor of the food but preserves all the nutrients as well.
Minimal wastage.
Owing to the minimalistic design, it allows you to make the tiniest of portions depending upon your child’s need. This guarantees no/minimal wastage of precious food.
Although making food in bulk and storage for later consumption is a valid option, and saves a lot of time and energy. While making it fresh for every meal is the best choice, it can get exhausting for a daily routine.
Split steaming-basket design.
It allows to steam the food to the required consistency. while steaming, the water collects in the main-jar and can be used while making purees.
Easy to operate and maintain.
This elegant baby food processor is equipped with a simple yet elegant control panel.

Kiddale baby food processor comes with a detailed operating manual, that guides you step by step through the meal-making, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. It deals with every aspect in beautiful detail. Besides, the internet has excellent support through articles and videos.
Availability of accessories, and replacements
Stir cup, blade, jar-lid are all available online as separate units. This is sure to help in long-term hassle-free use.
Cons
- All plastic body. It would have been great to have a ‘stainless steel jar’-version to avoid any plastic inclusion in baby food making, although the plastic is certified food-grade and non-toxic.
- High cost. The smartest version with all functionalities, including a touch-panel comes with MRP of Rs 7999/. I purchased mine at 5499/ after a discount from Amazon. Nonetheless, it will prove an asset worth investing in. You can also opt for a manual knob control version, that retains all functions minus the touch panel feature.
- Limited use. Beyond, baby food making, I haven’t found much use anywhere else. I have steamed veggies for personal use and for my 7-year-old son, but the quantity is not sufficient for routine use, perhaps we can repeat with smaller quantities. As I experiment more each day, I may discover more and will keep you updated, surely.
My verdict for Kiddale baby food processor
The machine does what it is intended for, with utmost honesty. Saves me a lot of time, and makes nice smooth purees that my baby relishes. I have been using it for my 7-month old for over a month now, and I have become totally dependent on the miracle-machine for all her meals. Its a worthy choice, especially while weaning, for a hygienically smooth transition to solids.
It’s a beautiful time for me, watching my little-wonder relishing her introduction to worldly tastes. Read my blog on weaning, wherein I have shared my experience with Aarayna’s introduction to complementary feeding; when and how to wean, what suits the little tummies, and what to avoid. There are a lot of myths surrounding baby-food inclusions and exclusions, and I shall try to address the issue in detail, soon.
